Particularly worth a visit is the ARCHEOLOGICAL SITE OF EGNAZIA with its many layers of successive settlements, the most recent of which Roman. The museum comes close to my personal ideal: not too big and with an extremely well-presented and varied collection of objects:

THE MUSEUM OF THE GROTTAGLIE CERAMICS . Mind you: the local ceramics and pottery industry is very alive. You can visit many kilns and shops that offer a varety of pottery for daily use and for decoration that range from the beautiful to the splendid.
